Humans of BGM: Tanya On The Move!

After living in Binghamton for over 30 years, Tanya Burnett has decided to make the move to Baltimore, and just in time for the holidays! Today we met her at BGM while she waited for the arrival of her boyfriend, who was flying in from Philadelphia. The couple will be moving into his home in Baltimore, and he has come to help her with the packing process. Tanya shared her excitement about settling in and “celebrating a particularly special Christmas!”

The pair have been together for 5 years now, after a chance meeting in Baltimore. They happened to be staying at the same hotel when Tanya visited the city in 2012 with her tackle football team, Binghamton Tiger Cats. Tanya proudly told us that her team became ranked as the 2012 “All Stars” in the Women’s National Football League – after they won their game against the Baltimore Burns.

As a former ticket agent for United Airlines, Tanya expressed her fondness for the calm and friendly environment of Greater Binghamton Airport. Tanya said she will definitely miss the comforting familiarity of Binghamton, but looks forward to experiencing life in a big city.

We hope you have a smooth move, Tanya! Have a happy Holiday!
