Press Conference: Aircraft Donation to SUNY Broome

Today (2/24) inside Hangar 2 at the Greater Binghamton Airport, Dr. Richard Bedosky, retired local dentist and pilot of over 40 years, was recognized for the donation of his Piper Aztec to the SUNY Broome Aircraft Maintenance School.

Once approved by the SUNY System, the State Department of Education, and the FAA, this donation will allow SUNY Broome to create their new Aircraft Maintenance Program.

Dr. Drumm, President of SUNY Broome and John Bernardo, Deputy County Executive (representing Debbie Preston, Broome County Executive ) both spoke to thank Dr. Bedosky for his astounding contribution to SUNY Broome and the local community.

Dr. Drumm explained, “as with every piece of equipment we have in our classrooms and labs, future students in our Aircraft Maintenance Program will use BGM {Greater Binghamton Airport} and this new aircraft as their new “lab” to learn and study as they embark on a new career.”

Dr. Bedosky then spoke about his ties to the local community, his career as a dentist, his years as a pilot, and about how the love of his life – his late wife – urged him to donate the plane to SUNY Broome.

From everyone at SUNY Broome, Greater Binghamton Airport, and your community – Thank you, Dr. Bedosky!
